PERRYTON, Texas — Services for Loyd Allen Jr., 67, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at First Baptist Church in Floydada, Texas. The Rev. Anthony Sisemore will officiate. Burial will follow in Floydada Cemetery.

Allen died Aug. 11 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born June 29, 1934, in Starkey Community, Texas.

He graduated from Floydada High School and attended North Texas State University. He moved to Perryton, Texas, from Gallup in 1970. He was the general manager at United Cable TV from 1970 to 1996.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of various organizations. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, antique collecting, metal detecting and coin collecting.

Survivors include his mother, Joy Allen of Floydada; sons, Rick Allen of Wimberly, Texas, Kim Clenney of Midland, Texas, Kelly Clenney of Amarillo, Texas, and Cody Allen of Mount Airy, N.C.; sisters, Frances Lipps of Aztec, Naomi Johnson of Farmington, Pat Battey and Debra Graham, both of Floydada; and six grandchildren.
