Mrs. Mary Sloan Passes Away
Mrs. Mary Sloan died at the home of her son-in-law Edward [sic]* Oke at Mammoth on Tuesday evening after a lingering illness of several months. Her death resulted from stomach trouble. Mrs. Sloan was the mother of Mrs. Rose Tresidder of the city, Frank Sloan of Goshen, Mrs. Jennie Oke and Mrs. Thomas J. Coombs of Mammoth and Terrance and James Sloan who are residents of Bingham.
The deceased was 68 years of age and was born in Cumberland, England. She came to Tintic three years ago to spend her declining years with her children.
The funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in this city Rev. Mannion (sp?) having charge. Many friends and relatives attended and a lengthy funeral cortege followed the remains to their last resting place in the city cemetery.

*According to Mr. Oke's death certificate and headstone his name was Edwin, married to Mrs. Sloan's daughter, Mary Jane "Jennie" Sloan Oke.
