Obituary for Andrew L Bailey
Mr. Andrew Louis Bailey was born in Gloster, Mississippi on June 25, 1954 to the union of Elmo & Myrtice Bailey .
He was affectionately known as "PoBoy." He attended Elementary and Junior High at Carver High Elementary and High School at Coffee County High where he graduated in 1972.
At an early age he joined Hightower Memorial Temple under the leadership of the late Bishop Hightower. He was baptized at the age of fourteen (14) and was a member of the youth choir.
Andrew was a very humble spirited person and he brought love and laughter to everyone he came in contact with. One of his hobbies was playing the drums. He worked several jobs in Douglas, Georgia and Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his father Elmo Bailey Jr, and stepfather Richard Quarterman Sr.; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His beloved mother Ms. Myrtice Bailey Quarterman. His three (3) children whom he loved dearly—Antwane (Selena) Tucker, Marcus (Lillian) Bailey and Tameka (Corey) Williams all of Douglas, Georgia. His sisters—Brenda Cheatham, Shirley (Fred) Brockington, Elaine Bailey, Annie Mae (Charles) Sims, and Connie Brown. One brother Richard Vickers all of Douglas, Georgia. Thirteen (13) grandchildren and three (3) great-grandchildren. Aunts & Uncles—David Bailey of Centerville, Mississippi; Jerry (Veronie) Braswell, Mary Bell (Fernell) Carter, Betty Hicks, Rev. Theodore (Barbara) Braswell, A special God Uncle Bernie Braswell, and Mattie Braswell all of Douglas, Georgia; Mamie (Daniel) Gaskin of Atlanta, Georgia and Elijah Braswell of Douglas, Georgia. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins family and friends also survives.


Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Everette Chapel C.M.E Church. Burial will follow the service at Douglas City Cemetery.
