Mary Alice Winney was born at Glenhaven, Wis. Jan. 27, 1866. She moved to Nebraska while a young woman and taught school for many years. On June 18, 1895, she was united in marriage to Richard K. Spangler of Edholm, Neb.

In 1900 she moved with her husband and family to Boone county, Nebraska to farm west of Albion where they resided until her husband’s death, Jan 17, 1945, just five weeks and four days prior to her passing.

After the death of her husband she made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Scott of Albion. She passed from this life Sunday, Feb. 25, 1945, at the age of 79 years, four weeks and one day, after an illness of only a few days.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Albert Scott and Mr. Scott of Albion; one granddaughter, Marilyn Scott; and a host of friends and acquaintances.

In 1895 both Mrs. Spangler and her husband united with the First Christian church of Edholm.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Smith Funeral home, conducted by Rev. Elmer Case of the Church of God. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery beside her husband.
