Fred Marshall Ogburn Jr. died Thursday, May 1, 2003. Born in Boykin, he was a son of the late Fred Marshall and Nettie Smyrl Ogburn . He was a pharmacist for 50 years, the owner and operator of Ogburn Pharmacy, a 1951 graduate of USC School of Pharmacy, a member of the 401 First Division of the Eighth Air Force, a radio operator on B-17 Bombers during the European Theatre and a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church where he taught 3rd grade Sunday School for 48 years.
