Leonard Stanley Crider, 84, son of Delbert Crider and Ruth Summers Maxville, was born Oct. 22, 1921, at Summersville. He died June 30, 2006, at his home at Summersville.

He married Eunice Bond Nov. 4, 1945. They were married 61 years and had one son.

Mr. Crider served in the Army for more than 21 years before he retired. He worked for Conway-Winters Shoe Factory for several years.

He was a lifetime member of the Summersville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7222.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Jean Frauenfelder.

Surviving are his wife of the home; son, James Crider of Raymondville; and two sisters, Maxine Hornberger of Granite City, Ill., and Juanita Wessel of Rose Hill, Kan.

Services were July 3 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel in Summersville with the Rev. Arvel Schweighauser officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Flat Rock Cemetery.
