Gerald served in the U.S. Air Force in Europe during WWII. He retired in 1989 from Dura Toledo after 44 years of service in production control. He had also worked in maintenance at St. Pius X in Toledo. Gerald was a member of VFW Point Place, American Legion Point Place, and the Messiah Lutheran Church, all of Toledo, OH. He loved his cats, Oxie and Orbie.
Gerald is survived by his children, Jerry (Marie) Tomesek, Janet (John) Sinkovic, Pat (Lloyd) Claussen, Phil (Cindy) Tomesek, David (Yvonne) Tomesek, and Al Tomesek; sisters, Mary Swage, and Frances Avery; grandchildren, Heather, Alina, Adrian, Alex, and Stephanie including many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Violet Tomesek, son, Kenneth, brothers, Fritz, Joseph, and Johnny, and sister, Anne.
A private family burial will be held in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Toledo OH at a later date.
