Melvin Talbot was born in West Virginia and came to Fresno after serving in WW I from January 1917 to 1919. His occupation was agent and fruit buyer for several companies – Pacific Fruit Express and Sgobel & Day. In 1924 he became the manager of the Federal Fruit Exchange in Lindsay (Tulare County CA) and Armona (Kings County, CA), a position that he held until retiring in 1960.
He was a member of Las Palmas Masonic Lodge No. 366 and served as its Master in 1938.
