Mildred M. Blecha was born in rural Morrowville, KS. on March 25, 1918, the daughter of Frank Zach Sr. and Maude (Nutsch) Zach and died June 22, 2015, at the age of 97 years, two months and 27 days.
She graduated from Haddam High School, Haddam, KS. and attended Kansas State University. She married Henry J. Blecha on November 8, 1941 and to this union four children were born. Before becoming a farm wife and homemaker, she taught in one room country schools.
She and her husband Henry spent their life farming and had a grade A dairy nearly 30 years. The last 30 years they were owner and operators of the Evergreen Acres Campsite.
She was an active member of St. George's Catholic Church, Munden, KS., Women's Alter Society, Catholic Workman, Liberty Rose Creek 4-H Leader, Excelsior F.C.E.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Maude Zach; husband, Henry J. Blecha; one daughter, Rita Blecha Sulzen; three brothers, Frank, Harvey and Lawrence.
She is survived by two sons, Donald (Margaret) Blecha, Kelvin ( Marcia) Blecha; one daughter, Janice (Mark) Keeley; son-in-law, Richard Sulzen; nine grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was held June 26, 2015 at St. George's Catholic Church, Munden, conducted by Father Brian Lager. Interment was made in St. George's Catholic Cemetery rural Munden. Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS. in charge of arrangements.
