Joel Thomas Montgomery, 55, of Buckner, Ark., formerly of Idabel died Saturday in Texarkana after an extended illness.
He was a graduate of Idabel High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Hamilton Montgomery of Buckner, Ark.; two sons, Joel T. Montgomery Jr. of Stamps, Ark. and Tracy Montgomery of Buckner, Ark.; one daughter, Connie Easley of Buckner, Ark.; two brothers, Louis Montgomery of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and Tony Nix of Idabel; one sister, Patsy Baker of Broken Bow; his parents, Onie and Vernon Nix of Idabel; and one grandson.
Rev. Cletus Hawkins officiated services Monday at Smith Funeral Home of Stamps, Ark. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery.
