Dorothy Jean Williams, 80, of Tangent passed away on Wednesday at her residence.

Dorothy was born in Palmer, Neb., to Elmer and Roberta (Ball) Hagan. She grew up in Sumner, Neb., and graduated from Geneva High School in 1950. She married Pete Ramirez in Nebraska that same year and they had three children then later divorced. Dorothy married Fred Williams in Reno, Nev., in 1967 and he preceded her in death in 2004.

She loved animals especially her beloved dog, Rex. She enjoyed hunting, playing cards, getting junk mail, watching football and Jeopardy. She is remembered as a great cook.

Dorothy is survived by daughter Roberta Walter of Tangent and son Michael Ramirez of Albany; brothers Louis and wife Betty of Mason City, Neb., Darwin “Bud” and wife June of Salem, Gary and wife Susie of Albany, and Danny and wife Jan of Albany; sister Karen and husband Mike Stoffel of Monroe; grandchildren Cory and Brad Ramirez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Davey; and sisters Delores, Joy and Alice.
