Ronald R. Heumann was a devoted and beloved husband, father, grandfather, judge, and friend. All who knew him loved him for his kindness, his gentleness, his compassion, his unselfishness and his wisdom. Although he has left us, he will never be forgotten.
Ronald Heumann was born on March 6, 1937 in Bell Gardens, California to Henry and Margaret Heumann. Ron met Rosemary McPherson at Cal State L.A. and they were married on November 14, 1958. Ron was an officer with the Montebello Police Department in Los Angeles County in the early 1960s. After graduating from Hastings College of Law in San Francisco in 1965, he moved to Riverside to work for Hennigan, Butterwick & Ryneal. From 1969 to 1989, he maintained a private Riverside civil practice until appointed a Riverside County Superior Court judge. Ron became a Christian during his college years through the ministry of the Hollywood Presbyterian Church. Ron and Rosemary were active members of First Baptist of Riverside for many years. Recently, they joined North Coast Church after moving to Carlsbad. Ron maintained active membership in the California State Bar Association and was chair of the governing committee of continuing education of the bar in 1978. Among his many contributions in service to others, Ron taught college Sunday School classes, judged Mock Trial, helped Riverside Poly basketball boosters, and supported the San Diego Zoological Society. Ron departed this life on February 1, 2005. He will be remembered by: his wife, Rosemary; his brothers, Bob, Richard, Ray, Roger and Roy; his daughter, Virginia Kearney; his sons, Michael and Douglas; his son-in-law, Christopher Kearney; his daughters-in-law, Caroline Krejci and Tammie Lee; his grandchildren, Maggie, Brendan, Henry, Sophie, Mollie and Steffi; and many friends and family who loved him dearly.
