She was born September 1, 1917 in Salt Lake City as an only child to Archibald Elmer Witherell and Anna May Akhurst.
Dorothy married Ralph S. Dunn on May 27, 1936. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for seventy-four-plus years. He passed away in 2011.
Dorothy graduated from Jordan High School. She worked at Midvale Telephone Co. as a switch board operator and at Auerbachs as a personal shopper. She and her husband served as President and Co-President of the Midvale Historical Society for six years. She also served as the Vice-President of the Midvale Ladies Guild for three years.
She was a loving mother and loved family get togethers. She was a devoted genealogist and spent many hours doing genealogy and temple work. She held many church callings. She was a longtime resident of Midvale and had many wonderful friends.
Survived by her daughters, Barbara (Maurice) Tueller and Carolyn (Grant) Gibb; four grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Robert; and daughter, Margaret.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), Midvale. Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Midvale City Cemetery.
