Geraldine Mann April 16, 1923 - June 5, 2015 passed away peacefully on June 5, 2015. Jeri, as she was called, was born in 1923 in Portland, Oregon to John and Antoinette Bendicenti who were immigrants from Calabria, Italy. Along with her brother, Earnest, and sister, Josephine, she grew up in the Clinton neighborhood of S.E. Portland and was an active member of St. Philip Neri church. She attended Girl's Polytechnic and graduated from Washington High School where she met her future husband John Colin Mann. They were married in 1951, and soon after settled in the Salem area to raise their family. She worked as a bookkeeper at Green Thumb Florist where she also enjoyed arranging flowers when the opportunity arose. She was a talented homemaker who enjoyed her garden along with sewing, knitting and exploring many creative activities.Jeri was fun loving and optimistic. She loved people and enjoyed cooking and entertaining for friends and family, but mostly had a special place in her heart for all children.She is predeceased by her husband, John and infant son, Patrick. She is survived by her children: Michael Mann of Shaw; Joan Mann of Salem; Mary Jo Mann (John Pioli), and Thomas Mann (Nancy) both of Portland; and grandchildren James and Laura Martinson, Charles and Joan Pioli, Brandon Wheeler, and Sara Walters and great-granddaughter Trinity Walters - all who fill blessed to have had this wonderful mother and grandmother in our lives.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Family Building Blocks (2425 Lancaster Dr. NE, Salem, OR 97305)
