Virginia Lee Mooney, 79, of Moore, OK passed away June 30, 2015. She was born July 5, 1935 to Samuel and Ollie Blasengame in Stuart, Oklahoma.
Virginia enjoyed reading Daniel Steel novels, gardening and cooking. She was actively involved with her church, Covenant Life Assembly of God. Virginia’s greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Elbert Wayne Mooney of the home; daughter, Sherry Standerfer and husband, Steve; grandson, Steven Michael Standerfer and wife, Angie; and great- granddaughter, Lia Johnson; granddaughter, Jenny Standerfer and boyfriend, Steve Fitzspatrick. Virginia also leaves behind a sister, Jodene Hutchins and husband, JD; 3 nieces and 5 nephews who lovingly referred to her as “Aunt Gin”.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Blasengame and Lowell Blasengame; sisters, Iona Hall and Shirley Blasengame.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 6, 2015 at Covenant Life Church, Moore, OK.
Interment will be held 3:30 PM, Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Pryor Cemetery, Stuart, OK.
Services are under the direction of John Ireland Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
