Tremonton/Pleasant View – Rodney Keith Wilks, 69, passed away June 25, 2015 at his home in Tremonton, UT with his wife at his side. He was born January 10, 1946 in Montgomery, AL to Ralph Wiley and Thelma Shirley Smart Wilks.

He graduated from Crestview High School in Crestview, FL where he was very active in baseball and football. He also graduated from Auburn University with an Aeronautical Degree. He married Sandra Sue Conner June 15, 1967 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away March 22, 1991. He married Kathleen “Kathy” Deters June 30, 1995 in the Bountiful LDS Temple.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a High Priest. He served in many callings including Ward Clerk, Teacher in the Primary and Sunday School and was a Home Teacher. He loved fishing, camping, backpacking in the Wind Rivers, spending time in the Uintah’s, snow skiing and teaching many nieces and nephews how to ski. He enjoyed traveling where he visited Hawaii, the Caribbean, Belize and yearly trips to Corpus Christi, TX in his brothers 5th wheel to camp and fish.

Rodney is survived by his Wife: Kathy; Children: Shawn Keith Wilks (Sarah), Stacey Ann McBride (Brian), Brian Keith Wilks (Jill); step-children: Colby John Nish (Christina), Tyler Jae Nish (Kristi), Jeri Diane Gagon (Chad), Nicole Janiece Francom (Ammon) and Landon Craig Nish (Catherine); 28 Grandchildren; siblings: Kenneth Wilks (Terri) and Edward Wilks (Karen). He was preceded in death by his parents and 1st wife Sandra.

Funeral Services will be held in the Pleasant View 6th Ward Chapel 1650 North Diane Drive (400 West), Harrisville, UT, Wednesday, July 1, 2015 11a.m. Viewings will be held at the Church Tuesday from 6-8p.m. Wednesday from 9:30-10:30a.m. Interment will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden.

The family wishes to express appreciation to Dr. Ignacio Garrido-Laguna and the staff at The Huntsman Cancer Center.

The family suggest donations be made to the Huntsman Cancer Center or the Missionary Fund of the LDS Church.
