Michael J. Riley, age 48, of Amanda, died peacefully Saturday, February 28, 2009 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born March 3, 1960, the son of Rita L. (McCormick) Riley of Columbus and the late Thomas J. Riley. He was a graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis as a master mechanic. Retired owner of Quality Carpentry, an interior trim business. His fine craftsmanship remains evident in his Hocking County home. He is preceded in death by his father and brother Anthony Riley. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Susan (Snyder) Riley; mother, Rita L. Riley; sisters, Kathleen (Philon) Deutch and Karen (James) Pooler, all of Columbus, and Mary (Greg) Bailey of Nashport; many beloved nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2009 in the chapel of the DEFENBAUGH-WISE-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 151 E. Main St., Circleville with Pastor Karen Martin Kepner officiating. Family will receive friends from 12Noon until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
