Charlotte Pendleton Love, 85, of Collinsville, Virginia, died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. She was born on May 24, 1930 in Stanleytown, Virginia to Tyler Turner "T.T." Pendleton and Nellie Gay Boyd Pendleton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kyle C. Love, who was the contractor that built McKee-Stone Funeral Home, her son, George Wayne Love, a granddaughter, Melissa Love Zimardo and her son-in-law, Bradley S. Simms.
Charlotte was a graduate of Bassett High School, a member of Villa Heights Baptist Church since 1962, where she served on the Deacon Board, she worked in the nursery and taught Sunday School since 1965, she was a faithful worker for Bible School for many years and retired in 2010 due to her health. She was a charter member of the Collinsville Lioness Club, served on the Board of Directors of the Collinsville Recreation Center which is now called the Collinsville YMCA. In 1969 and 1970 she worked with the cub scouts in her home and at Collinsville Church of the Brethren with the late Robert Hylton.
Surviving are two sons, Kyle T. Love and his wife, Nancy of Collinsville and Rick L. Love and his wife, Sharri of Collinsville, one daughter, Mary Elaine "Sissy" Love Simms of Fredericksburg, one sister, Joann Pendleton Dalton and one brother, Lynwood Pendleton both of Collinsville, three grandchildren, one-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Charlie Gunter.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 1:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Martinsville Chapel with Reverends Ray Farrow, Larry Cheek and Keith Spangenberg officiating. The Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
