Lawrence L. (Larry) Meurer, 64, died Friday, March 25, 1977 at 1:40 p.m. in Hill Country Memorial Hospital. His body lay in state in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home until 9:45 a.m., Monday, March 28. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Francis Kalina officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery.
A rosary service was held Sunday, March 26, at 7 p.m. in Schaetter's Chapel with Rev. Francis Kalina officiating.
Mr. Meurer was born Sept. 10, 1912, in Gillespie County, the son of Jacob Meurer and Emilie Grona Meurer.
Survivors include one son, Lawrence Meurer Lay, Houston; three brothers and two sisters: Henry Meurer, Edwin Meurer, Hilmar Meurer; Louise, Mrs. Oscar Verstuft, all of San Antonio, and Anna Marie, Mrs. A. E. Boggs of Fort Stockton.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Werner Meurer; and another brother and a sister who died in infancy.
Mrs. C. L. Weinheimer was the organist and Mrs. Melvin Itz the vocalist for the services.
Pallbearers were Edward Maurer, Harold L. DeHart, Andrew Meurer, Ernest Meurer, Richard Kunz and Julius Luckenbach.
