Cynthia and her husband Marsham were members of the Christian Church. They moved from Kentucky to Illinois in the fall of 1829 with her parents. Cynthia and Marsham lived in Morgan County, IL the first year, then moved to Warren County, IL.

She married in 1823, Marsham Lucas, born 5 September 1801 in Hardin County, Kentucky; he died 24 June 1898 in Knox County, Illinois, brother of Martha and Tabitha [above], children of the Rev. Cornelius and Sarah Phelps LUCAS. He married (2) as her second husband Mrs. Elizabeth Deweese Davidson in December 1837. In 1830 the family moved to Morgan County, Illinois; and two years later Marsham participated in the Black Hawk War. "Those were trying times, for his family were obliged to make their escape from their home in order to save their lives, returning at the expiration of hostilities."

Later they removed to Warren County where he helped built the town of Monmouth as well as many roads. Eventually he gave up farming and settled down in Abingdon, Illinois where he died 14 June 1898. Cynthia was buried in Parker Cemetery. Page 121: HISTORICAL: "Second Saturday in April, 1832: Received by letter Bro. Marsham Lucas and Sister Cynthia Ann Lucas, his wife."
