Richard Hollis Castleberry, 90, of Poplarville, Mississippi, died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at his residence.

Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church, Poplarville on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 10:00 am. Burial with military honors will be in Poplarville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Thursday at White Funeral Home, Poplarville.

Mr. Castleberry was born September 27, 1924 in Marietta, Mississippi to Elmer Prentiss and Roxie Ann Newell Castleberry. He was a graduate of the University of Wyoming and a retired Claims Manager with General Motors Corporation. He was a World War II United States Navy Veteran, receiving the Purple Heart and U.S. Navy Presidential Unit Citation. He was a lifetime member of the Military Order of The Purple Heart and charter member of the National World War II Museum. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Poplarville, serving in the Joy Choir and Harmony Sunday School Class.

Family members include his wife of 67 years, Alma Bilbo Castleberry; two children, Gordon Michael (Ann) Castleberry of West Point, MS, Judy (Tommy) Castleberry-Graham of Ridgeland, MS; one sister, Betty Castleberry Sullivan of Cheyenne, WY; eleven grandchildren, Natalie (Brad) Harper of Calhoun, LA, Nick Castleberry of Atlanta, GA, Nathan (Samantha) Wardlow of Lumberton, MS, Jackson (Michelle) Castleberry of Atlanta, GA, Ryan Wardlow of Jackson, MS, Sarah Castleberry of Norfolk, VA, Cary Castleberry of Chicago, IL, Jessica Graham of Batesville, MS, Chad Trapp, Grant Trapp, both of Hanover, IL; ten great-grandchildren, Peyton, Morgan, Kameron, Clark, Hollis, Haley, Gerrit, Brady, Trinity, and Turner.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin Hubert Castleberry, Marion Kelly Castleberry, Billy Wayne Castleberry, and Paul Milton Castleberry.
