David attended Douglas High School, where he was a star athlete on the football field. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed bowling whenever he got the chance.
David is survived by Mary Rust, his wife of 35 years; children Andrea Hughes, Brian Rust, Kelle Bucolo and stepson Jim Hall; six grandchildren; brother Tim Rust and sister Trudy Hughes.
David was preceded in death by his parents Royce and Audrey Rust; sister Tina Rust and brothers Shan Rust and Larry Rust.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 2, 2015, at the Church of the Nazarene in Winston at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the Tenmile Cemetery.
