She was a graduate of Ashbrook High School, class of 1974 and worked as a medical transcriptionist for forty years. Kim was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the beach. Her life was wrapped around her family and delighted in attending special events such as ballgames and recitals. She was of the Methodist faith. Kim will be remembered as an easy going, strong and compassionate person.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Norma Hopper.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-four years, Freddie Walker; step-father, Curt Long of Gastonia; three daughters, Tabitha Arrowood, Leslie Francis and husband, T.J., Pamela Henson and husband, Travis all of Ellenboro; one son, Kevin Walker and wife, Kasey of Tampa, FL; brother, Michael Hopper and wife, Rhonda of Virginia. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Emma Langley, Hayden Francis, Preston Henson, Kaity-Bug Francis, Kendall Walker, Kellen Henson and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at seven o'clock on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. A private inurnment will take place at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
