Our beloved Roger “Dale” Harrison, 50, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 after a very intensive and aggressive three month battle with lung cancer. Dale’s resolve never wavered in his fight against cancer with which he battled to the end. Dale was born on February 24, 1965 in Winston-Salem to Roger “Yogi” Harrison and Joann Jordan Harrison. Preceding him in death was his father and a brother, Larry J. Harrison. Dale was a very loving and compassionate man, nothing demonstrated this more than while fighting for his life, and he would always be concerned with the health and well-being of his family and friends, rather than his own. Dale was such a caring person, extremely hardworking, dedicated husband of 29 years, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. If love could have saved him he would have lived forever. He was a man of many interests; enjoying guns, cars, antiquing, hiking, and especially fishing and gardening. Dale had an unprecedented mechanical ability which began at a very young age and continued throughout his life. He was very well known for his unique skill set. He used those skills for 26 years while employed with Triangle Body Works and for the last eight months with Southern Coach. Surviving is his devoted and loving wife, Pamela Harrison; daughter, Amanda Harrison; two grandchildren, Jason and Ethan; loving mother, Joann Harrison of Lewisville; an inseparable and loving brother, Gary Harrison of Lewisville; nephew, Justin Harrison of Boone; also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and in-laws. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to thank Hospice of Winston-Salem for their extraordinary care that was shown to Dale. “You have to accept whatever comes and the only important thing is that you meet it with the best you have to give.” Eleanor Roosevelt.
