He was born Dec. 31, 1992 in Kankakee, the son of Virginia Hawkins and Stanley Staples. He was a senior at Kankakee High School and enjoyed sports. He played football for the Eastside Bulldogs.
Surviving are his mother and father of Kankakee; three brothers, Jonathan Hawkins, Devonte Staples and Joshua Staples, all of Kankakee; three sisters, Jasmine Burks of Robbins, Brandi Staples and Brittani Staples, both of Kankakee; other father, Edmund Harris of Kankakee; paternal grandmother, Eddie Mae Sextion of Kankakee; and other grandparents, B.C. and Mary Harris of Kankakee; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John Sr. and Virginia Hawkins; and paternal grandfather, Charles Staples.
