Inscription
In memory of Edward 3rd Viscount Conway born 1623 Lord Lieut of this County. Lieut General of the Horse in Ireland and one of the Principal Secretaries of State to King Charles 2nd by whom he was created Earl of Conway 3rd Dec 166? Married first Anne daughter of Sir Heneage Finch died at Ragley 1678 and was buried here. Second Elizabeth daughter of George Lord Delamere died 1681 also interred here. Third Ursula daughter of C Stawell Esq in 1681 who afterwards married Earl of Mulgrave. By this lady the Earl had an only daughter betrothed to Popham Seymour eldest son of Sir Edward Seymour 4th Bart MP, PC Speaker of the House of Commons to whom he had bequeathed his estates in Warwickshire and Ireland. He died 11th August 1683 and was buried in the same vault.
