NEWPORT NEWS - Gale Page Taylor, 73, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2015.

Born in Richmond, on June 13, 1942, she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1960 and Averett College in 1962 and Longwood College in 1964 with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education.

She taught 3rd grade in Quantico, on the marine corps base for 1 year before returning to the Richmond area where she taught for another 6 years.

She and her husband then moved to the Tidewater, area in 1972 shortly after the birth of their first child.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Sidney Grey Page, Jr and Dr. Maysville Jane Page of Richmond.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 49 years, William Redd Taylor of Newport News; son, William Redd Taylor II of Newport News; daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Ty Schroeder and their son, Ryan Schroeder, all of Casper, Wyoming; two sisters, Maysville Page of Boca Raton, FL, and Diane Page of Santa Rosa Beach, FL.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends both at home and on the Outer Banks of NC. She loved listening to good music and spending time at the beach.

The family received friends at Peninsula Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, from 5:30pm to 7pm. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at 11am, at Peninsula Memorial Park.
