OKLAHOMA CITY — Ronald W. Carman, 86, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Pleasanton, Neb., died Tuesday, June 2, 2015, in Oklahoma City.
Cremation was chosen. Burial will be later at Pleasanton Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 29, 1928, to John and Bertha (Kroeger) Carman on the farm near Pleasanton. He grew up in the Pleasant Valley community and graduated from Pleasanton High School. In December 1946, he married Grace Dobry. This union was blessed with two daughters, Ronna and Michelyn, and one son, Joseph.
Ronald was a longtime farmer, baseball player, Valmont pivot dealer, and real estate broker and appraiser. He retired from Carman Real Estate in 2011.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 68 years, Grace, and daughters, Ronna Eddings and her husband, Tom, and Michelyn Christiansen, all of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Darold “Red” Carman and his wife, Janet; sister, Carol Lee Johnson and her husband, Charles; extended family; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Joseph.
