Mrs. Virginia M. Deatherage, age 78 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the Capital Region Medical Center.

Virginia was born November 4, 1935 in Frankenstein, Mo. the daughter of Joseph John and Helen E. Bescheinen Kaver. She was married on April 28, 1969 in Tucson, Arizona to Marvin P. Deatherage.

A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Virginia attended St. Peter School.

A homemaker, Virginia has been employed at Wal-Mart and later owned and operated a day care center.

She enjoyed sewing, music, roller skating, bowling, word search puzzles and riding a motorcycle. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include: her husband of forty-five years, Marvin P. Deatherage; three children, Tony Pitts of Holts Summit, Mo., Susan Bates of Holts Summit, Mo., and Cindy Reeves and her husband Sonny of Holts Summit, Mo.; one brother, James D. “J.D.” Kaver and his wife Sandy of Jefferson City, Mo.; and Millie Bledsoe of Fort Morgan, Colorado; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Randy Pitts; one grandson, Brian Reeves; two sisters Margie and Nelda; and two brothers Joseph, Jr. and Bobby.

Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
