James Noland Thomas, 87, husband of Virginia Lois (Stevens) Thomas, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was born in Estill County, Kentucky on November 19, 1927 to the late Winfield S and Rosa (Skinner) Thomas. He was a United States Marine Veteran, a member of First United Methodist Church and retired from Leggett and Platt.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, James Scott Thomas, Toni Thomas Fitzsimmons and Terri Thomas (Greg) Dawson; six grandchildren, Chelsea Alyson Fitzsimmons, Tyler Scott (Elizabeth) Montgomery, Nolan Robert Thomas, Mathew Scott Thomas, Andrew Luke (Kayla) Dawson and Lauren Elizabeth Dawson. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Shelley Jo Thomas.
Services will be at 2:00PM, Monday, June 29, 2015 at Scobee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Dawson, Kyle Dawson, Greg Dawson, Larry Powell, Prewitt Sams and his grandsons.
Visitation will be from noon until time of service.
