Rebecca Ann (Turner) Griffin, 81, of Lubbock, TX, born December 22, 1939 in Bokchito, OK. She won an unexpected battle of these unprecedented times and is now in the presence of our Lord on August 26, 2021.
She was a devout Christian and devoted wife, mother and Nanny. She married James Edward Griffin on September 28, 1956 in Lubbock, TX. They owned and operated James Griffin Construction, along with their son, David, for 19 years before retiring. They were married for 59 years when he passed.
Ann was known for keeping things in order and her home immaculate. She loved her family and was a strong matriarch. She married Charles Franklin Griffin April 18, 2019 in Lubbock, TX; together they continued her favorite traditions of bowling, bingo and traveling to visit family and slots.
Preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Turner and Johnnie Ester Turner Hanks; step-father, Albert Hanks; sisters, Norma Jean Turner and Linda Turner Brooks; three brothers; husband, James; and son, David.
Those left to cherish her memory are: husband, Charles and his daughters, Angela Richardson and Charlotte Davis; sister, Nadine Thrasher; brother, Bill Turner; daughter-in-law, Becky; grandchildren: Sheila, Breanne, Jamie, Sarah, Tyler and J'Lynn; and great-grandchildren: Makayla, Cassidy, Harrison, Arya, Tatum, Mason, Silas, Barrett, Truett and Micah.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2021 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2021 Resthaven's Abbey Chapel.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her memory to your favorite charity.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Covenant Hospital.
The family has requested that everyone wear face masks and social distance.
