Mrs. Augustine Lopez, 90, nee Anita Rios of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, in Houston.
A funeral mass was celebrated Thursday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.
Interment followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
A rosary service was held Wednesday evening, Nov. 10, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held prior to the funeral.
Mrs. Lopez was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Comfort, the daughter of Benito Rios and Susie Menchaca Rios. She married Augustine Lopez on March 18, 1937, in Boerne. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lopez is survived by two daughters, one son and spouses, including Pauline and Bill Roberson of Houston, Alfredo and Karen Lopez of Junction and Judy Andrea Aguirre of Kerrville.
Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Joaquin Morales of Comfort.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Lopez was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, including Herlinda Hernandez, Janie Lopez, Paula Rios, Joe Rios, Benito Rios, Severio Rios and Seferino Rios.
Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Mario Martinez, Alfredo Aguirre, Larry Blakeley, Danny Morales, Johnny Garza and Allan Garcia.
