John Allen 'Jack' Anderson, formerly of Elkhorn, son of the late Sorenius 'Red' and Irma Anderson, died in Elgin, Ill. on Tuesday, August 2, 2005, of complications from pneumonia. He began his career as a Pilot in World War II and continued as a Flight Instructor, Crop Duster, and Fighter Pilot in the Puerto Rican Air National Guard. He joined Eastern Airlines in 1956 and retired as a Captain in 1985. He is survived by his aunt, Lillian Dowling of Milwaukee; his sister, Leora Macdonald of Racine; his son, Gary Marshall of Newnan, Ga.; his daughters, Jeanne Anderson of Elgin, Ill. and Karan (Spurrier) Walker of Newnan, Ga.; his grandchildren, Tonya (Marshall) Gable, Kimberly Marshall, Karan Sue Walker, Eddie Walker, Glenda Smith, Stephanie Smith, and Roxanne Smith; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karna (nee: Laird) Anderson; and two sons, James Allen Anderson and John Michael Anderson.
