Faye Graham Johnson, born June 22, 1926 in Big Creek, Texas, passed away on August 23, 2018 at the age of 92.
Faye is preceded in death by her parents, George M. and Ola Winslow Graham of Conroe.
She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, James (Jim) Joesyar Johnson, Jr.; their son, Stephen Wayne (Rusty) Johnson, both of Georgetown, Texas; as well as brothers Alton R. Graham of Houston, George M. Graham, Jr. of Corpus Christi; and sister, Verna Mae Graham Maduzia of Houston. Faye is survived by sister, Erma Lee Graham Wise of Willis, and several loving nieces, nephews, a great niece, great nephews and one great-great niece.
Faye graduated from Conroe High School and Durham’s Business School in Houston. After Faye and Jim moved to Georgetown in the early 1950’s, Faye became an active member of the Georgetown Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and stay-at-home-mom until the owner of the Ben Neuman’s Store convinced Faye to work for him. Faye later took a position as Secretary to the Southwestern University’s Provost until she retired in 1992. In her later years, Faye played a major role in the establishment of the Georgetown Community Clinic and as an active board member.
Visitation will be held August 29, 2018, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Gabriel Oaks Church of Christ, 408 W. Morrow St., Georgetown, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at the Hutto Cemetery, 100 County Road 135, Hutto at 2:30 p.m.
