Prominent Citizen of Derby Died Yesterday
John H. Swisher, one of the most prominent business men of Derby, this county, died yesterday morning at 8 o'clock after suffering several years with paralysis.
Mr. Swisher came to Kansas from Illinois eight years ago and settled in Derby, where he engaged in the lumber business. Several years ago he was afflicted with paralysis, bur was able to attend to his business affairs until a very short time ago.
For the past week it has been known that he could not recover and his death was momentarily expected until the end came yesterday.
The funeral will be held from the family residence in Derby this afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by I.W. Gill, and the body will be interred at the Derby cemetery. Mr. Swisher leaves a small family.
