Mrs. Phillips, age 92, of Purcell, was the fourth of seven children born to John Elmer and Bertha Ruby (Shurley) Harnsberger.

She grew up on a farm north of Lindsay, OK, and attended Lindsay schools.

On August 18, 1943 in Noble, OK, she married Elgin Phillips, the love of her life. In 1945 they moved to Purcell where they remained living throughout their lives.

Faye worked most of her life for the McClain County Treasure and retired in 1987 as Deputy Treasurer.

She was a faithful member of the Purcell, First Baptist Church and served as the Sunday school department secretary for the adult II Sunday school for 36 years.

In her earlier years, Faye rode in rodeo’s and parades while Elgin participated in them,mas well. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her garden, sewing, church and time with friends and family.

For the past several years she resided at the Westbrook Gardens Assisted Living.

Preceding her in passing were: her parents; her husband, Elgin, in 2003; Two sisters, Ethel Harris and Vivian Morgan; Two brothers, Warren and Jim Harnsberger;

Survivors include: a sister, Johnie Cook and a brother, Jack Harnsberger; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services: 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 30, 2015, First Baptist Church in Purcell.

Arrangements: Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
