Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 21, at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church in Omaha, Neb., with Father Michael Tan Creti officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
June Elaine Bell was born Feb. 20, 1927 at the Karstens' home in section 9, Valley Township, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ludwig J. (Louie) and Alvina C. Burmeister Karstens and was one of five children.
She attended Valley Township rural school #2 and graduated from Avoca High School with the Class of 1943.
She was united in marriage to Robert W. Bell on July 30, 1951 in Charleston, South Carolina. They were the parents of three children.
June faithfully served All Saints Episcopal Church for many years; she was also a member of the Rotary Anns.
June was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister in 1912, and her husband, Robert W., who died on December 26, 1996. (Journal Herald, Avoca, Iowa)
