Born July 12, 1933 in Gaithersburg, Maryland, he was the only child of the late Murray L. and Cornelia H. (Grimm) Walker.
He was the husband of Constance Lee (Frye) Walker, who preceded him in death in 2008 after a marriage of 53 years.
He worked in the office, and as a pipeliner, welder and corrosion technician, for Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation, retiring in 1990 after 40 years of faithful service. After retirement, he continued his home repair business for a number of years before finally hanging up his hammer.
He gave honorable service to the United States Coast Guard in the 1950's, including time on the icebreaker USCGC Eastwind, the cutter USCGC Barataria, and at Base Boston. The Eastwind service took him to the Arctic and to Greenland, and the Barataria service into the North Atlantic Ocean.
In later years, Kim enjoyed the camaraderie of his son Mark and many friends at Dogfish Head Alehouse in Gaithersburg, and would often "hold court" from the bar.
He is survived by a son, Mark Allan Walker, M.D., a grandson, Devin Theodore Walker, a brother-in-law Donald LeRoy Frye, M.D., family and friends.
Friends and family may call between 6:00 and 9:00 PM on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD 20872.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Lovettsville Union Cemetery, 12930 Lutheran Church Road, Lovettsville, VA 20180.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Izaak Walton League of America, Rockville Chapter (http://www.iwla.org).
