He was born August 5, 1941 in Winchester, Indiana to the late Horace E. and Nettye Ann (Thompson) Howard.
He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2000 after 35 years of service. He was a member of First Christian Church in Mooreland. He was an electrician, farmer, and tractor hobbyist. He loved horses and Cushman scooters. Philip enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Debbie (Jordan) Howard; children, Tod A. (Amy) Howard of Mooreland, Dean E. (Wrennie) Howard of Goshen and Angie (Chris) Dunsmore of Mooreland; five grandchildren, Wayna, Aidan, Evan, Emma Jo and Esther; sister, Diann (Larry) Grubbs of Losantville; an aunt and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Waters for all their loving care.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, with Jeff Cates and Pastor Nathan Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 at the funeral home.
