Carey Lou Fletcher, 87, of Centertown, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
Carey was born October 2, 1927, in Centertown, Mo., to William and Anna (Carey) Eckenberger who preceded her in death.
She was married to George W. Fletcher on May 8, 1947, in North Kansas City Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on December 15, 2006.
She was a lifetime member of Centertown Baptist Church in Centertown. She liked reading, canning, gardening, VFW ladies auxiliary, being involved with her church and being with her family. She graduated from Centertown High School.
Carey is survived by: her two sons, Dale Fletcher (Diane) of Jefferson City, Keith Fletcher (Trudie) of Centertown; one daughter, Karen Griggs (Steve) of Holts Summit; three grandchildren, Caleb Griggs, Sarah Lueckenhoff (Derrick), Clayton Fletcher; a step-grandchild, Brandon Schreimann; four great-grandchildren, Ashton Griggs, Jack, Joel Lueckenhoff and Jayce Griggs; and a step-great-grandchild, Hunter Schreimann.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo. Officiating is Rev. Stephen Bickel. Burial will be held at Centertown Cemetery in Centertown, Mo. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2015, at 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Centertown Cemetery Association c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home.
