Susan (Chavez) Nelson, 54 of Clovis, NM and a former resident of Santa Rosa died Friday, December 2, 2011 in a Lubbock, TX hospital following an illness.
Susan was born January 11, 1957 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Albert A. and Carmen (Velasquez) Chavez. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa.
Susan loved baking and living life to its fullest.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a son Aaron Nelson.
Survivors include a son, Rick Nelson of Santa Rosa, her brothers and sisters; Theresa Chavez and husband Gabriel of Bernalillo, NM, Leroy Chavez of Clovis; Ruth Olson of Clovis, Pauline Chavez of Amarillo, TX, Santiago Chavez, of Santa Rosa, Joanna Chavez and Robert of Santa Rosa, a niece, Adina Chavez of Santa Rosa and step mother, Diane Chavez of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are two grandsons; Aaron and Matthew Nelson, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation and Rosary services were held Monday, December 5, 2011 at 3:30 PM from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
