Born Feb. 9, 1916, In Boonville, Ind., he was the son of Charles H. and Minnie (Phillips) Garrison. He was a graduate of Indiana University with undergraduate and graduate degrees in chemistry. He worked for Texaco, Inc., for nearly 40 years, retiring from the Lawrenceville Refinery in 1980 as Supervisor of Air and Water Conservation. He was a member of the American Chemical Society for nearly 60 years. An active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lawrenceville, he served as treasurer at the time of his death.
He married Shirley Martens on Oct. 10, 1943, in Whitestone, N.Y., and she preceded him in death on February 14, 1990. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, three sisters, and a son, Lt. Joseph H. Garrison, in 1973.
Survivors include four sons, Douglas, David, Thomas and William Garrison; a daughter, Joan Monts; and nine grandchildren.
