Garrett Wayne Shelton age 21, of Flat Lick, KY was born on December 29th, 1989 in Bell County, KY to Luther Wayne & Glenda Sue (Gray) Shelton and went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning July 24th, 2011 at his home.
Garrett Wayne was special to this family and everyone that met him he loved to laugh, run and play, spend time with his papaw and mamaw, playing with his ducks, riding his Batman big wheel, going fishing with his papaw and shooting his gun. He enjoyed celebrating his birthday with parties and favorite holiday was Christmas. He enjoyed watching T.V. and his favorite shows were: Thomas the Tank, Barney SpongeBob, The Rugrats, Spiderman, Scooby Doo, Teenage muntant ninja turtles, All that, Batman, Doug Funny, Power rangers and COPS. His favorite color was blue and his favorite number was 2, his favorite foods were Reese cups, Funyons, Mountain Dew, Bacon Bits and Ranch dressing. Garrett also liked Fire trucks and was an Honorary Member of the Stinking Creek Fire Department.
Garrett was preceded in death by three great grandmothers Myrtle Brown, Clara Gray, and Bertha Maynard.
Garrett is survived by his loving mother & father Luther Wayne & Glenda Sue (Gray) Shelton, one very special sister whom he loved very much Holly Paige Shelton, and his dear grandparents Garrett & Elaine Gray all of Flat Lick, KY, One very special cousin Kasey Nicole Jordan- Gray of Flat Lick, KY, a very special aunt and uncle Beverly Denise( Gray)Jordan & husband Roger of Barbourville, KY, his paternal grandmother Mary Shelton of Pineville, KY, Aunt Marie Jones & husband Lowell of Straight Creek, KY, two uncles Grant Shelton of Pineville, KY and Buddy Shelton of Tazewell, TN, cousins, Collin Hunter, Braxton Jordan, Samatha, Shannon, Simon, Sherry, and Boman, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Garrett Wayne will be conducted on Thursday – July 28th, 2011 @ 11:00 with Rev. Jerry Smith & Rev. Vernon Morris officiating. Pallbearers will be Boman Gray Jr., Tony Brown, Bud Sizemore, and Dalton Sizemore. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Khorram , nurse Penny, Dr. Frederick , nurse Nikki, and Dr. Owens. Burial will follow in the Gray Cemetery at Flat Lick, KY. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
