On the 1870 Lexington, Rockbridge Co., Virginia cesus, I found Professor at Washington College, J J White, 41; Mary L, 37; Sallie H, 10; ISABELLE, 8; Agnes R, 6; William C, 4 and James R, 2, all Virginia born. They also had a teamster, nurse, cook and house servants.


On the 1880 Lexington, Virginia census, I found professor & farmer James J White, 51; wife Mary L, 47; daughters or sons: Sallie H, 20; BELLE, 18; Agnes R, 15; William C, 14; Reid, 12, all Virginia born. They also had 4 servants.


On the 1900 Columbia, Boone, Missouri census I found professor Wm G Brown, 46, Nov 1854 England; wife ISABELLE Brown, 34, Aug 1865; Mary L R Brown, 3, Dec 1896; William G Brown, 1, Sept 1898; Not Christened Brown, 1/12, Mar 1900 and mother Jane G Brown, 66, May 1834 in Scotland. Isabelle and kids were all Virginia born.


On the 1910 Columbia Ward 4, Boone, Missouri census I found William G Brown, 50, England, English; wife ISABELLE W Brown, 48, had 5 kids, 3 living: dau. Mary L Brown, 13; son William G Brown Jr, 11; son Henry C Brown, 9 and mother J Geane Brown, 78, born Scotland, English.


On the 1920 Columbia Ward 4, Boone, Missouri census I found Wm G. Brown, 66; wife ISABELLE, 58; dau Mary L., 23 and son Henry C., 19. Wm was born in England and the rest in Virginia.
