Allen Algy Baese, 94, passed away in his sleep on Thursday morning June 18, 2015 at his home in Wood Bay, (Bigfork) Montana. He was born November 12, 1920, near Richey, Montana to Henry Baese and Nettie (Rickert) Baese.
He was the oldest of ten children: Vera, Elsie, Levi, Dwayne, Leroy, Rosie, Evelyn, Stella and Jason. He was a farmer, coalminer and a mechanic. He served 27 years, 9 months in the (Army) military, from which he retired. He served 3 years active in Korea, the Philippines, and Japan. He worked a little over 24 years for the Montana National Guard as a mechanic at Oms #6, in Billings, Montana. He achieved the rank of E-8, First Sergeant. He retired November 12, 1980.
On October 22, 1950, he married Lorraine C. Smith. They had 3 children, Allen L. (Linda) Baese of Bigfork, MT; Susan K. (Max) Cleverley of Shelby, MT; and Douglas H. Baese of Virginia. He has 8 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1PM until 2PM at Saint Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 30631 Montana HWY 209 Bigfork, MT (Ferndale) on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. A funeral service at 2PM will follow at Saint Patrick’s Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Bigfork Community Cemetery, on Swan River Road with full Military Honors, with a reception to follow down stairs at Saint Patrick’s Church.
