Passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 83 years. The daughter of the late A. Willis and Helen (Zander) Van Auken, Marcia was born December 14 1992 in Saginaw. She was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School and attended Michigan State College. She married Frank B. Mason Jr. on April 25, 1942 in Saginaw. Mrs. Mason was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and served as a volunteer with the Saginaw County Sheriff Department for 12 years. As a hobby, Marcia enjoyed genealogy. Surviving are her husband, Frank B. Mason Jr.; two children, Frank B. Mason III and his wife, Susan, of Battle Creek; and Kerrie Blackney and her husband J. Thomas, of Saginaw; three grandchildren, Erin (Todd) Shappee, Zachary (Judy) Mason, and Jessica (Chris) Barr; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by as sister, Sarah Clift.
Funeral service will take place 12:00 noon Friday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 123 N. Michigan Ave. with Rev. Darren Elin officiating. Internment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Cederberg & Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave. on Thursday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
