Thelma G. Carley, 90, passed away Friday, June 30, 2006 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2006 at First Federated Church, followed by burial at Rising Sun Cemetery in Rising Sun. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Iles Funeral Home Westover chapel.

Thelma was born December 29, 1915 in Rising Sun, the daughter of Carl and Phebe Drottz. In 1933 Thelma married Floyd G. Carley. She worked for the Des Moines Public Schools and Drake University for many years and retired in 1978.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her parents, ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Westholm of West Des Moines; three sons, Floyd G. Carley of Islamorada, FL, Donald R. Carley of Colorado Springs, CO, James G. Carley of Altoona; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great -grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Federated Church.
