Joe Easy Clifton, went home to the Lord on March 3rd, 2015 after living a long, adventurous and full life. He was surrounded by family. Joe was born in Franklin, North Carolina on January 1, 1931.

Joe worked at ITT Grinall and Bloomfield Metal and Scraps for many years until he retired. Joe was well known for fishing, he loved to fish everyday. He was a member of The Fisherman's Club, St. Martin de Porres Senior Center, and a member of this great church, Ebeneezer Baptist.

Joe was very social and had many friends. He had a saying for everyone, was smooth talking and had a special cool style. He typically greeted everyone with “Hello darling!” Joe was also known for his special hair cut/fade with a peak (pompadour).

He was preceded in death by his wife Earnesteen 'Sal' Clifton, parents, Floyd & Cora Clifton, son Frank J. Clifton, brother Nehemiah Clifton, and sisters Christana Brooks, Flora Lee Crudup, Minnie Odel Harris, and Petrola Bowden.

He has left to cherish his memory, his children, Elaine Nkomo of Cranston, Lou Ann Bradley of Cranston, Donald Ray Clifton of Pawtucket, and Ronnie Clifton of Providence. He also leaves 7 siblings, Salathiel Clifton of North Carolina, Richard Clifton of Providence, Ann Lou Montique of Providence, Ruth Issac of Florida, Corine Mann of North Carolina, Jessie Mae Buffalo of Virginia, and Evasteen Carroll of North Providence. Also leaving to mourn16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

He will be truly missed...

His service will be held Tuesday, March 10th at 11am at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 475 Cranston Street, Providence; Viewing begins at 9:30am in church. Internment at North Burial Ground, 5 Branch Avenue, Providence.
