Farmer. Born in Allegheny Township, Blair County, Pennsylvania. James was married three times, first on 18 Apr 1839 to Ruth Ann Lucas, d. 1865, who is buried with him. He was then married on 10 Jul 1867 to Martha Jane Spaid or Spade, d. abt 1871 (she is in the 1870 census), who appears to have been from Juniata Township in Blair County, Pennsylvania, and finally on 13 Jun 1872 to Hannah (Williams) Probasco, d. 1906, widow of Jacob Probasco, who survived him.
