He married the former Karen Tuttle Shumaker in 1999. They adopted two children from Guatemala, Jacob Anthony Guercio and Anabella Sophia Guercio. A loving husband and father, Mike was wholly devoted to his family. He cherished the moments he spent with his wife, son, and daughter.
Mike was well known and highly respected throughout the Bel Air business community. His many friends and associates remember him as being extremely knowledgeable, articulate and well-versed on many topics. Whether the discussion centered on taxes, real estate investments, financial matters, or adoption and family issues, Mike was always a trusted and reliable advisor. He was a partner in the Bel Air accounting firms of L, H, G & S and The Small Business Group.
Mike enjoyed being involved in Republican politics at all levels. A true conservative, he participated in many state and local political campaigns.
Mike is also survived by his parents, Henry P. and Norma G. Lucky Guercio of Forest Hill, MD, brother P. Steven Guercio, and his wife Mimi, of Bel Air, MD, sister Teresa, and her husband, Steven Truckenmiller, of Bel Air, MD, brother Henry P. Guercio Jr. of Forest Hill, MD and maternal grandmother, Hazel Sparks of Forest Hill, MD. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
